Donna Wells has been an attorney with the Los Angeles County Chicano Employees Association (LACCEA) since 2010. The legal services she provides include representation in disciplinary actions and discrimination matters to hearings before the Civil Service Commission.

Donna Wells has been an attorney with the Los Angeles County Chicano Employees Association (LACCEA) since 2010. The legal services she provides include representation in disciplinary actions and discrimination matters to hearings before the Civil Service Commission.
Prior to joining LACCEA, Wells was in private practice, handling labor, employment and civil rights law litigation, as well as representing and counseling municipalities and public employees on labor issues.
Previously, she was also General Counsel at Film L.A., Inc., and Director of Government Relations for the Motion Picture Association of America.
Wells is a graduate of UCLA School of Law and serves on the UCLA Law School Alumni Board. She is a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association, and the Labor & Employment Law sections of the California and L.A. County bar associations. She also serves on the County Bar President’s Advisory Committee for the Status of Women in the Legal Profession.
Attorney Dion DiNome came to LACCEA in 2017 after a decade with the County of Los Angeles Probation Department. As a son to a parent in the County workforce, the husband to a wife in the County workforce, and a previous employee himself, Mr. DiNome has a strong understanding of the County, including both policy and politics. As a son to a parent in the County workforce, the husband to a wife in the County workforce, and a previous employee himself, Mr. DiNome has a strong understanding of the County, including both policy and politics. Mr. DiNome deals extensively with workplace investigations, discipline, IPMs, and more. Mr. DiNome carries a strong interest in ensuring our members are treated fairly and with the respect they deserve.
Anastasia Grant joined LACCEA’s Legal Team August 2021. Her 5 years of paralegal experience will be a great benefit to members. She has a substantial amount of experience in Worker’s Compensation as a Paralegal/Hearing Representative. Having a bachelor’s degree in Psychology has helped her to connect with clients on a different level. S
Anastasia Grant joined LACCEA’s Legal Team August 2021. Her 5 years of paralegal experience will be a great benefit to members. She has a substantial amount of experience in Worker’s Compensation as a Paralegal/Hearing Representative. Having a bachelor’s degree in Psychology has helped her to connect with clients on a different level. She not only zealously advocates for her clients but has a keen sense of negotiation and interpersonal skills. Mrs. Grant decided to take her education in the legal field a step further and graduated from Whittier Law School in 2019. She has obtained her Juris Doctorate with a concentration in criminal law and has received an award for her outstanding academics. During her time in law school, she had the privilege of externing at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Edelman’s Children’s Court, the Legal Aid Society of Orange County and has studied abroad in Israel learning Israeli law. Mrs. Grant is enthusiastically dedicated in ensuring our members are treated equally and provided with the opportunity to be heard.
Lee Wax, our political director and an advocate for employee rights for over 50 years, has a lifelong history in advocacy. Mr. Wax has received numerous awards (far too many to mention) but is most proud of his Medal of Valor received from Los Angeles.

Lee Wax, our political director and an advocate for employee rights for over 50 years, has a lifelong history in advocacy. Mr. Wax has received numerous awards (far too many to mention) but is most proud of his Medal of Valor received from Los Angeles.
It all started when he was the elected Shop Steward at Goodyear Tire and Rubber at 18 years old. He went on to work 34 years at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in various classifications. To his credit, Mr. Wax was elected Chairman of the Clerical Unit for over 15 years (largest group in IBEW), hired by IBEW Local 18 as a Business Agent and served as their Political Director for 6 years. He was then hired by AFSCME Local 685 to conduct the agency shop election with Los Angeles County, hired by the union and then served over 22 years as Business Representative and Political Director.
Mr. Wax was later reassigned to AFSCME District Council 36, representing the cities of Compton, Pasadena, Commerce, Lynwood as well as Children Services, Transportation, Housing Authority, and Parks and Recreation.
Mr. Wax continued as the appointed Chair of the City Commission on Carpal Tunnel by Senator Hayden and appointed Labor Representative on the Los Angeles Work Force Commission chaired by Senator Lamar Alexander.
As the first African American Chairperson of the Fish and Wildlife Commission, Lee Wax has represented the Second Supervisorial District since his appointment in 2011 and currently serves as Vice Chair.
